StudentsJumpingTeachers, Administrators, and Program Leaders now have the opportunity through November 15, 2019 to nominate students in grades K-12 for the Student and Youth Travel Assocation's (SYTA) Youth Foundation's Road Scholarship.  Learn more about this opportunity to assist student travelers in financial need.

The Student and Youth Travel Assocation's (SYTA) Youth Foundation was founded on the belief that travel is essential component of a complete education.  Because of its unwavering belief in global citizenship, the foundation has awarded more than $1.2 million in scholarships to students for educational-related travel.

The application window for the scholarship is open October 1 - November 15, 2019.

In its most recent issue of Teach & Travel magazine, the official publication of SYTA, the chair of the foundation's Executive Committee Barbara McCormack was interviewed about the foundation's Road Scholarship Program.

What is the Road Scholarship?

A Road Scholarship is financial aid granted to individuals or groups of five or more.  Individual awards given are up to $1,000 and group awards are up to $5,000.  Since it's inception in 2002, the foundation has awarded scholarships to over 6,000 student travelers.

The grants are vetted and approved through the SYF Board of Trustees.  The Fall 2019 Road Scholarship application period is open October 1 through November 15, 2019.  Decisions regarding scholarships will be announced the week of December 16, 2019.
