America Votes: Who's Your Favorite Founding Father?  Founding Fathers Fourth-of-July-Madness Bracket Competition!

It’s Fourth-of-July-Madness over at the National Archives for the #FoundersFaceOff. Sixteen of the founding fathers who signed the Declaration of Independence will be competing in a bracket-style tournament to determine the most beloved.  Continue reading to see who will face off in round one!  

Round one includes face offs between John Adams vs. Samuel Adams and Thomas Jefferson vs. Robert T. Paine, and more!


Cast your vote on Twitter or Instagram following the hashtag #FoundersFaceOff.  And if you need to brush up your knowledge of the founding fathers, you can read more about the 56 signers of the Declaration of Independence here.    

The timeline of voting is as follows:

  • Round 1: Monday, June 25, and Tuesday, June 26, four rounds of voting starting at 8 am
  • Quarterfinal: Wednesday, June 27, and Thursday, June 28, two rounds of voting starting at 10 am
  • Semifinal: Friday, June 29, at noon
  • Championship: Monday, July 2, at noon
