Gettysburg National Military Park Offers FB Live Classroom Series

Want your students to learn directly from primary source documents and stories from the battlefield, but can't get to Gettysburg?
This new education series hosted  by Gettysburg National Park allows your students to hear stories of character, study original documents, and discover careers related to historical national parks. 



Series #1: Gettysburg Character Lessons
Recommended for Students in Grades 1-6
October 4, 11, 18, 25 and November 1, 8 at 1 pm EST

Explore mini-lessons on determination, courage, endurance, commitment, citizenship and more through various people (and one dog) and locations around Gettysburg National Military Park.


Series #2: Documents of Gettysburg
Recommended for Students in Grades 4-8
February 7, 14, 21, 28 and March 7, 14 at 1 pm EST

The Gettysburg Address, a letter written home from a field hospital, the damage list from the John Slyder farm… explore various documents and places with a park ranger each week.

Series #3: History Careers
Recommended for Students in Grades 7-12
April 4, 11, 18, 25 and May 2, 9 at 1 pm EST

Law enforcement? Cannon and monument restoration? Curatorial work? Tour guide? Explore all of the many skills and careers needed to operate a Civil War national park!
