The Museum of the American Revolution Re-Creates the Occupation of 1777 in Philadelphia

The British are Coming (Back)!

October 14 & 15, 2017, 10:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M.
at the Museum of the American Revolution in Philadelphia
According to the Museum of the American Revolution, it will "commemorate the 240th anniversary of the British occupation of Philadelphia with a two-day living history event."
The event includes walking tours, special programs, and family-friendly activities that tell the story of life in the city when British forces controlled the Revolutionary capital.
Meet in-costume soldiers, civilians, and spies and "learn about the untold stories about the American Revolution's darkest days." Try on your own revolutionary clothing, heft a flintlock musket, and explore the galleries.
The Museum also will hold a vote to determine if the British presence should be considered an occupation or a liberation?
School groups love this museum and it's engaging events. For more information about school trips to Philadelphia, please  Browse Our Tours.
