Planning a trip to Washington, D.C. this September? Good news! The Smithsonian's National Museum of African American History and Culture has announced “Walk-Up Weekdays” through the month of September. What does this mean for you?
Usually, the museum requires visitors to obtain a timed-entry ticket, which are available on a limited basis. But through the month of September, no tickets will be needed for entry to the museum during the week.
That means that you can just stop by the museum even just to have lunch at Sweet Home Cafe, which some food critics deem to be the best food on the Mall.
Passes will still be needed on the weekends and for groups over 10.
The museum is open from 10:00-5:30 daily and is home to over 36,000 artifacts documenting African American life, history, and culture.
