In the most recent issue of Teach and Travel Magazine, Student & Youth Travel Association member tour operators selected five U.S. cities as the "Top Emerging Destinations" for student travel in 2019 - and one of our favorite NationsClassroom tour destinations made the list.
Baltimore, Maryland has been a popular destination for our NationsClassroom tour groups, especially due to its close proximity to Washington, D.C (it's only 40 miles away!). And we're not alone in recognizing the greatness of this historic city, as it was named as one of the Top Emerging Destinations in the U.S. for student travel.
The city of Baltimore offers history, science, and the arts. Student groups can visit Fort McHenry, which will forever be associated with Francis Scott Key and "The Star-Spangled Banner" that he penned while watching the British bombardment of Baltimore during the War of 1812.
Art enthusiasts will appreciate the Museum of Art that features the works of Matisse, Picasso, Cézanne, Gauguin, van Gogh, and Monet. The city also is home to the American Visionary Art Museum that has been designated by Congress as America's national museum for self-taught art.
The National Aquarium and Maryland Science Center both offer programming that will enrich any science curriculum.
