TIME Magazine's first annual "World's 100 Greatest Places" was just released. The goal of the list is to help readers find attractions that are not just popular tourist attractions, but places that are truly relevant and worth visiting worldwide. One of NationsClassroom's most popular student travel destinations made this prestigious list, which didn't surprise us! Can you guess which D.C. attraction made the list?
TIME started the selection process by soliciting nominations from editors and industry experts across a variety of categories - museums, restaurants, theme parks, hotels - and then evaluated each one based on factors like quality, originality, innovation, sustainability and influence.
The Newseum is among other museums and libraries on the list, including the National Museum of Qatar and the VAC Library by Farming Architects, a library in Vietnam with bookshelves that double as an outdoor climbing frame.
