Honoring and Reflecting on Martin Luther King, Jr.'s Legacy Today

51 years ago today on April 4th, 1968, Martin Luther King, Jr. was fatally shot in Memphis, Tennessee.  His legacy of tireless work towards equality and justice continues today.  In fact, one of the most popular memorials in Washington, D.C. for our school tour groups is the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial. 

 

In his memory, I just spent a few minutes of reflection this morning reading through all of his quotes that are included on his memorial.  If you're putting together a lesson plan this week in his memory, I highly recommend this experience.  You can read all of the quotes included on the memorial here.
