NationsClassroom Supports Mount Vernon Repairs to East Lawn Following Mudslide

Mount Vernon Lawn-1.jpg

A major section of the East Lawn at Mount Vernon suffered structural damage following severe rains in early August. NationsClassroom is happy to support efforts to raise funds needed to restore and maintain this scenic treasure.

Parts of the wall between the Mansion and the river collapsed under the pressure of a mudslide that resulted from heavy down pours. Financial contributions are being collected to help fund repairs to the lawn and support structures overlooking the Potomac River that were eroded.

More information about the East Slope Damage, images, and links to make a contribution can be found here.

"The Mount Vernon estate has suffered mudslides before but we’ve never had anything this severe. Some of our staff that have worked at the estate for over 30 years don’t remember anything of this magnitude."
                            - Curt Viebranz, President & CEO of Mount Vernon
